Rehabilitation of the former boiler house of the University of Labour in Charleroi to convert it into a Design Competence Center. The project aims to serve as an example in terms of circularity and seeks to preserve and enhance the spatial qualities of the original site.
The largest existing areas are maintained as “public” territories—open to interpretation and adaptable (reception, meeting areas, exhibition spaces, cafeteria, and terrace). The finishes, signage, and furniture are designed with this perspective of transparency and respect for the original space, in order to create lively environments that can adapt to the project’s evolution and to the needs of its users.
