This project involved the renovation of approximately 800 m² of office space in a 1970s building, with an approach attentive to the existing structure and its potential. Rather than a radical transformation, the intervention focused on responsible adaptation, prioritising reuse over systematic replacement.
A key aspect of the project was the recovery and reuse of materials from the demolition phase. Several elements were carefully dismantled and reinterpreted, such as the former radiator cover panels, which were transformed into a custom-built library. At the same time, thoughtful consideration was given to the selection of durable new materials and locally produced furniture, supporting short supply chains and Belgian craftsmanship.
The project was developed in close collaboration with the clients and employees, with careful attention to their needs, working habits and expectations. This participatory process made it possible to design spaces that encourage interaction, well-being and collective efficiency, while clearly expressing the identities of both Woodwize and Wood.be through a balance of distinct work areas and shared spaces.
